We spent last weekend visiting with friends in Kingman, AZ and had the pleasure of photographing this beautiful family. It was a little gloomy when we met up in downtown Kingman, but overall the session went great! We let the kids play as we usually do, because in all honesty, photographing little ones is all about balance. You really have to let them play and run (or climb?!) and hope that they’ll cooperate a little. Most of the time, the photos from these moments are my favorites. Hopefully their parents love them, too.
Thank you Casson family for trusting us again to capture your family at this moment and being so patient while we adjust to this new balance with 2 kids (we had everyone in tow and Andrew managed to somehow assist me and keep both kids happy/alive). You make life with three look easy! Here are a few of our favorites from this session.

We went to our 40-week appointment and were excited about this baby’s impending arrival. After spending the previous weekend walking, eating spicy food and doing any other old wives tales that were reasonable to get labor going, we were looking forward to finding out if any progress had been made. We were totally shocked to find out that our baby boy had turned breech! We had spent months anticipating and hoping for a birth similar to Norah’s, which was darn near perfect in my eyes. So after an attempted, yet failed version, we were prepped for a c-section and Myles was born about an hour later. It was a completely different experience, but still amazing, as the result was this beautiful, healthy little baby boy. The journey might have been different, but the outcome was perfect.
We were prepared to document this birth, but hadn’t planned for a c-section. We asked our doctor about bringing a camera and after receiving her approval, our 5D Mark III went right along with us. Andrew did an amazing job of documenting what he could, taking care of me and also trying to be present himself.
Here’s a little bit of our birth experience and of our newborn session with Myles. We tried to include what we could without making anyone squeamish. See the quick video for more! Find us on facebook here.

These girls are simply adorable! I love this family so much and love watching these little ones grow, I just wish they'd slow down a little! I met up with them for a fun family session and I do believe it was their easiest session yet. Apparently 4 and 5 is the age where it becomes a little easier, aside from dodging fake smiles. :)

Having a two and a three year old is no easy feat and these two parents make it look easy! These girls happen to be Norah’s bff’s! They are silly and sweet and EVERYWHERE we go Norah expects for these kids to be there, too! It’s awesome to spend years talking about having kids around the same time and now we finally do! I just love this family and was very excited to photograph them! Here are some of my favorites from this session.
This family gave me one of the best moments of the year, which was to document this adorable baby boy's birth! I'm still on a bit of a cloud from it, obviously! I had the pleasure of meeting up with them for a little Fall family/6 month session in North Scottsdale. Gavin is growing SO fast and is seriously adorable!
